Heat index in Metro Manila on election day expected to reach 41°C


Voters in Metro Manila who will line up in polling precincts on Monday aftermoon may experience warmer weather.

According to GMA resident meteorologist Nathaniel “Mang Tani” Cruz, the heat index in Metro Manila may reach 41 degrees Celsius by 2 p.m.

The heat index or "real feel" is an indication of the apparent temperature based on a combination of the actual temperature and humidity.

The highest heat index expected today is 44 degrees Celsius and will be felt in Cabanatuan City.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail in Metro Manila today. —ALG, GMA News
