Aghon makes landfall in Marinduque, Signal No. 1 up in 22 areas

Tropical Depression Aghon has slightly intensified as it made another landfall in Marinduque on Saturday evening, according to the state weather bureau PAGASA's 11 p.m. bulletin.

At 10 p.m., the eye of Aghon was estimated in the vicinity of Torrijos, Marinduque, carrying maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 75 km/h.

Three hours earlier, the tropical cyclone was packing maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h.

Aghon was traveling northwestward at 15 km/h.

Heavy rainfall is expected in several parts of Luzon, particularly those under Signal No. 1.

From Saturday night to Sunday evening, Aghon will bring moderate to rough seas (1.5 to 3.5 m) over the coastal waters along the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon and the southern seaboard of Quezon and Bicol Region.

Aghon is forecast to make another landfall in mainland Quezon in the next 12 hours.
