NLEX ADVISORY: Motorists advised to take alternative routes due to flooding (August 31, 2026 11:40 p.m.)

The NLEX Corporation has issued an advisory for northbound and southbound motorists plying the major toll highway that connects Metro Manila and Central Luzon provinces.

Northbound

Class 1, 2, and 3 vehicles traveling northbound are diverted to the Sta. Rita Exit, proceed via Maharlika Road toward the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) due to the rising water level of the Pampanga River, which is affecting the NLEX San Simon Area.

Sta. Rita and Pulilan Northbound vehicles entries are temporarily closed to all types of vehicles.

• Meycauayan - passable, All types of vehicles, light
• Libtong Exit - not passable, all types of vehicles, temporarily closed due to flooding
• Candaba viaduct - all types of vehicles, heavy traffic
• Tulaoc (San Simon)
  • Class 1, 2 and 3 diverted to Sta. Rita Exit, advised to proceed to Maharlika Road to CLLEX
  • water build up in all lanes, heavy traffic
• San Simon Interchange
  • water build up in all lanes, heavy traffic

Southbound

Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles traveling southbound are diverted to the Mexico Exit

Class 3 may continue with their journey

Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles coming from TPLEX and SCTEX and traveling southbound toward Manila are advised to take the CCLEX toward Maharlika Highway
