The Quezon City local government unit and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority opened a zipper lane on White Plains Avenue in Quezon City on Sunday, June 28, 2026, to manage traffic during the White Ribbon March to be held later in the day.

The said zipper lane was opened to motorists starting at 6 a.m. and will be in effect until 9 p.m., according to a report by Carlo Mateo on Super Radyo dzBB.

The zipper lane on White Plains Avenue starts from the corner of EDSA and ends at the corner of Temple Drive.

Traffic on the said stretch of road was still light before 6 a.m. Sunday.

Tow trucks were already seen in the area ready to tow vehicles parking illegally later on in the day.

Organized by religious and civil society groups advocating electoral reforms and greater government accountability, the White Ribbon March will be held at the EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City.

The initiative, led by the Interreligious Leaders Council for National Transformation (IRCNT), aims to mobilize public support against corruption and political dynasties while pushing for reforms to the country's political system.

Organizers said a Mass will be held at 12 noon at EDSA Shrine, then participants will march toward the EDSA People Power Monument at EDSA corner White Plains Avenue starting at 2:30 p.m. A program follows at 3 p.m. at the People Power Monument.

The march is expected to coincide with similar activities in other parts of the country. —KG, GMA News
