SB19's Justin opens up on 'disrespectful' encounter at Los Angeles airport

Justin of SB19 revealed that the P-pop Kings had a "disrespectful" encounter at the Los Angeles International Airport when they traveled to the United States in July.

In their Lollapalooza vlog, Justin narrated what happened while the group was waiting for their luggage after disembarking from the plane.

He said a Filipino woman took pictures with some of the members, but their manager Leah stepped in when she kept her phone focused on the boys while they were on standby. Leah told her to wait until the group has settled.

According to Justin, a Filipino man who seemed to be working at the airport approached Leah after, asked her name, and called her a snob.

"Our manager said it politely and she wasn't even talking to the man. He just overheard it," Justin said in Filipino.

The man kept saying he was able to take pictures with other Filipino celebrities before and called SB19 snobbish. He also video-called someone and pointed his phone to SB19's faces.

Justin said the man continued to be "disrespectful" and "offensive."

"With our past tours, we never experienced something like this," he said. "We experienced it from a Filipino of all people. It's seems very normal to them and it's as if we were the wrong ones."

SB19 landed in Los Angeles for promotional activities before their performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 30.

The group held a pop-up store at the 100 Thieves and performed at the Grammy Museum for Global Spin Live.

They were also recently announced as the newest ambassador of the Department of Tourism.

Composed of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, SB19 is known for their songs "GENTO," "MAPA," "DUNGKA," and "VISA." The group debuted in 2018 under ShowBT Philippines and later founded their own company, 1Z Entertainment. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
