Faith Da Silva lives childhood dream to become a beauty queen in 'Red Crown'

Faith Da Silva will get the chance to live her childhood dream of becoming a beauty queen in her upcoming film, "Red Crown."

According to Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras" on Tuesday, the "TiktoClock" host tried out pageantry before.

"I used my confidence because at that time, my brain wasn't really sharp. Most of the time, I was the youngest of the candidates," Faith said in a mix of Filipino and English.

"But I win, I bring home the crown. At that time, I wasn't well-equipped, I didn't have much knowledge but I win competitions even the small ones because of the confidence I have," she added.

She said this is one of her dreams that got overshadowed because of her success as an artist.

"Now, what are you waiting for, Faith?" she said.

"Maybe there were just a lot of delays. Because I was busy with work and I'm very, very, very blessed, and I have had a lot of opportunities here in GMA. But if we have the chance to go for our dreams, why don't we do it right?"

Faith said it is also through "Red Crown" where her dream to star in a movie came true. She previously shot a film before when she was younger, but as an extra.

"Now, I have lines," she said.

"Red Crown" features a star-studded cast of beauty queens and artists, including Michelle Dee, Sanya Lopez, and Ahtisa Manalo. It will premiere in cinemas in October.

Meanwhile, Faith is also busy with the upcoming Kapuso medical drama series, "Code Grey." She said that learning the pasarela and other pageant preps are just as hard for a realistic portrayal of a medical worker.

"The medical terms are very precise because you have to say them in a way that you're very confident, very comfortable, as if you actually studied it," she said.

They also went through an immersion.

"We learned how to intubate, how to stitch, suturing," Faith said.

"We went through a lot before our first taping day," she added. "Everything was very detailed, because we want to show that this is truly a medical series."
