Andrea Del Rosario says Viva Hot Babes spoke to management over VMX Babes group name

Andrea Del Rosario admitted that the Viva Hot Babes spoke to the Viva management regarding the name of the new girl group, VMX Babes.

The group previously went by VMX Hot Babes, but the word "Hot" was later dropped from their name.

On Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Andrea addressed the issue when asked by Tito Boy.

"The topic was raised because there were talks about it," she said in Filipino.

"We actually asked the management if we could keep it," she continued. "We've been identified to that name for years."

She clarified that the Viva Hot Babes have nothing against the new group, but the name is close to their hearts.

Her fellow member Maui Taylor added that they became emotional when they learned there was a new girl group.

Asked for their reaction to claims that the new girl group is better than them, Maui said, "We wouldn't last 23 years if we didn't plant seeds and show talent."

Viva Hot Babes is a girl group composed of actresses and models formed by Vic Del Rosario Jr. in 2003. Aside from Andrea and Maui, other members include Katya Santos, Gwen Garci, Jen Rosendahl, and Sheree Bautista.

The group is known for their songs "Bulaklak" and "Kikay." They will hold a reunion concert at the New Frontier Theater on October 23.

Meanwhile, VMX Babes is a new girl group composed of actresses from the streaming platform VMX, formerly known as Vivamax. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
