Khalil Ramos gifts Sharon Cuneta with her film memorabilia
Khalil Ramos gave the most thoughtful gift to his “Honor Thy Mother” co-star, Sharon Cuneta.
On Instagram, Khalil admitted that he found it challenging to think of a gift, as Sharon was “someone who pretty much has everything already.”
But his girlfriend, Gabbi Garcia, advised to give her something she would remember.
“During our time on set, whenever the cameras weren’t rolling, I’d sometimes see Mama Sharon watching her old concert videos and looking through old photos as she prepares for her US tour. She told me it was her ‘encouragement,’” Khalil said.
With this, Khalil thought of Archivo 1984, an archivist and gallery “who has been collecting and preserving Philippine film and TV memorabilia for decades.”
“I reached out to ask what they had of Sharon Cuneta, and thankfully, they had some really special pieces. Rare photographs, behind-the-scenes moments, some of which have never been seen before, and even original lobby cards from ‘Bituing Walang Ningning’ and ‘Madrasta,’” Khalil said.
Khalil said he could not help but admire the Megastar’s colorful career as he looked through the materials.
“From the 2nd golden age of Philippine cinema to today, she still gives 101% in every scene. And as an actor, it’s such an inspiring reminder to always give my all, no matter how far I get in this industry. And to do it with heart, kindness and grace,” he said.
Khalil also shared a video of Sharon opening the present, which shocked her.
“Oh my god, this is the best,” Sharon said.
Khalil then thanked his “Mama Sharon” for her kindness, generosity, and being an inspiration.
“I came into ‘Honor Thy Mother’ getting to work with the one and only Megastar, but I walked away feeling like I had found another mom,” he said.
“Honor Thy Mother,” starring Sharon, Barbie Forteza, and Khalil was the number one series on Prime Video.
A story of family conflict and the complexities of relationships, "Honor Thy Mother" is a collaboration of three media giants, GMA Network, ABS-CBN, and Prime Video.
Khalil also recently starred in the film “Saving Cherry" with Barbie Forteza.
