'Amir' teases magical adventure in MMFF 2026 teaser trailer

The teaser trailer for the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2026 entry “Amir” is here!

On social media, GMA Pictures offered a glimpse into the mysterious world of Amir (Argus Aspiras), a young boy whose extraordinary experiences hint at the magic surrounding him.

It also hints at the challenges Amir and Ali (Dennis Trillo) must face as a looming darkness threatens their village, putting their bond and courage to the test.

The teaser also features the cultural heritage of the Muslims in Mindanao.

Aside from Dennis and Argus, the film also stars Glaiza de Castro, Will Ashley, and Ronnie Lazaro among others.

“Amir” is directed by award-winning director Zig Dulay, and written by National Artist Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza, the team behind the acclaimed film “Green Bones.”

It is a collaboration between GMA Pictures, GMA Public Affairs, and Brightburn Entertainment, the production company owned by Dennis and his wife Jennylyn Mercado. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA News
