Ate Gay's family announces wake details
The family of late comedian Ate Gay has announced the schedule of his wake and burial through his official Facebook account.
According to the announcement, Ate Gay’s wake will be held at Capilla Del Padre Jose Burgos, Forest Lake Memorial Premier Chapel in Biñan, Laguna, from November 4 to 9.
Public viewing will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 4 and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 5 to 8. Family members, close relatives, friends, and colleagues may visit at any time.
A final wake and tribute will take place on November 9, followed by his burial on November 10.
“As much as we would have wanted to hold Ate Gay's wake within his community, where he was known and loved by many, our current financial circumstances have made it difficult for us to do so,” the statement read.
They also expressed gratitude to Forest Lake for providing funeral services and other necessities, easing the family's financial burden during their time of mourning.
Ate Gay passed away on November 1 after suffering a stroke. He was also diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.
Ate Gay fought a hard battle against cancer. In 2025, an anonymous donor helped cover the cost of his radiation therapy at Asian Hospital, while a fan lent him a nearby condo unit for convenience.
In November 2025, Ate Gay said he'd already "graduated" from radiation and chemotherapy.
Earlier this month, he held a "living funeral" with his family and close friends.
