Rocco Nacino says enlisting in the Philippine Navy is a childhood dream

Rocco Nacino has enlisted in the Philippine Navy.

According to the Kapuso celebrity, it's been a childhood dream.

"Hindi naman kailangan full time soldier, but as a volunteer. Dahil gusto ko magamit ang knowledge ko and skills as a nurse na makatulong sa medical mission. And in times of calamity, I can be of help sa ating countrymen," Rocco told Nelson Canlas in a 24 Oras report.

Rocco will be given the rank of Captain, because of his stellar education. If you'll remember, Rocco is a board passer with a masters degree in nursing.

"Gusto ko rin maging isang vessel of influence sa mga kabataan natin, na it's okay to be a reservist in the army, and we can help in different ways as civilians," Rocco continued.

Earlier Tuesday, Rocco attended the arrival ceremony of the BRP Conrado Yap from South Korea, with fellow Kapuso Dingdong Dantes, who is also a reservist in the Marines.

"Natutuwa ako at na-invite nila ako today for the arrival of our Navy fleet from South Korea, at the same time to introduce me to the admirals and the generals na nandito," Rocco said. "Natutuwa ako na sinamahan ako ni Dong na isang reservist marine. Nakakatuwa na nakita niya na nabuksan daw yung mata ko na mag-serve sa country natin." — LA, GMA News
