Lisa Macuja marks 55th birthday reminiscing about 'glorious years' of Star City

The Star City fire dampened what was meant to be a happy day: Lisa Macuja Elizalde's birthday.

Lisa, one of the country's top ballerinas and wife of Star City owner Fred Elizalde, couldn't help but reminisce what the fire took from her as she turns 55.

The ballerina took to Instagram to look back at the theaters Star and Aliw theater which were both given to her as gifts by her husband.

19 years ago, Fred gave me an 850 seater theater named Star in the middle of his amusement park named Star City. Two birthdays later he gave me Aliw Theater. This time the arena like theater could sit 2,500! Yesterday, we lost almost everything in a devastating fire that ate up Star Theater, Star City, MBC building and parts of Aliw Theater. Today - on my 55th birthday I would just like to say THANK YOU to all who will remember those glorious years of the park complex that brought so much joy to me, my family, my company and our community! Mabuhay po tayong lahat! Thank you to the Lord for NO ONE WAS HURT! Thank you to all who remember me today! Thank you for making me feel so very blessed! #riselikethephoenix #wewillrebuild #starcity #startheater #aliwtheater #mbc #balletmanila #familyiseverything

Both theaters have been the home of her ballet shows, especially of Ballet Manila, for almost two decades now.

However, the fire destroyed Star Theater and parts of Aliw Theater.

In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, the beloved theme park Star City went up in flames, destroying almost 90% of the compound, said Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The BFP added that arson could have been the possible cause of the fire.

But Lisa chose to see the bright side of the tragic incident, and celebrated instead the "glorious years" of Star City.

"Today - on my 55th birthday I would just like to say THANK YOU to all who will remember those glorious years of the park complex that brought so much joy to me, my family, my company and our community! Mabuhay po tayong lahat! Thank you to the Lord for NO ONE WAS HURT! Thank you to all who remember me today! Thank you for making me feel so very blessed!" she said.

Despite the loss, Lisa announced that Ballet Manila's production of "Giselle", a dance in part of their 24th performance season "On Pointe", will now be moved to the CCP Main Theater instead of Aliw Theater.
