Ben&Ben admits to feeling anxiety amid quarantine bringing out more creativity in them

Ben&Ben admitted that they also felt anxiety and fears amid the quarantine period, fuelling creativity in them.

"Alam mo, 'yong anxiety at yung takot, marami 'yung nalalabas na creativity and definitely we've had a lot of that in this quarantine period," Ben&Ben said in a private listening session and mini press conference via Zoom.

Although it's not always that way, the band says "it starts with that. You figure out na sobrang tahimik, dami mong time mag-reflect, dami mong time to process everything in your life."

Ben&Ben said being reflective brings out a lot and they think each of each other amid the quarantine period

"Kaya nung nag-get together kami to create the song, na biglaan lang din, that creativity from that period of reflection, it was get-go," Ben&Ben said.

The award-winning nine-piece collective said if there's anything positive they can look at from this uncertain period is that it forces them to be creative and to come up with solutions.

"Of course, at the onset grabe 'yung massive anxiety and panic din. Parang pano na 'yung kabuhayan natin? Up until now actually, nafi-feel pa rin namin, at ng maramaing tao yun," Ben&Ben shared.

"But at the same time, it's about time that we start thinking na ok these are our limitations. This is our new reality. How do [we do it] in this new reality?"

Amid the pandemic, Ben&Ben wishes for the music industry to surpass this period.

"Ang wish namin sa music industry ay bumangon tayong lahat from all of it. Ang commitment namin sa music industry ay we will do our part in finding ways on how we can give help," they said.

Aside from their newest single "Lifetime" which will be released on Thursday, June 4, the band said they still have some unfinished songs that they are working on including the song they also composed amid quarantine titled "Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin."

Ben&Ben revealed the title of the song was inspired by a netizen who has been secretly in love with her best friend for eight years.

The band also worked with  Leon Zervos, an international master engineer who has mastered songs for Rihanna, Maroon 5 and P!nk among others. — LA, GMA News
