Glaiza de Castro helps bring relief goods to typhoon victims in Baler
Glaiza de Castro is among the handful of celebrities taking action to help the victims of Typhoon Ulysses.
According to a report on “Unang Balita,” the Kapuso actress donated and helped repack relief goods for affected residents in Baler, Aurora who lost their homes in the typhoon's onslaught.
"Ang bittersweet ng biyahe pabalik ng Baler. Masaya dahil andito na ulit pero nakakalungkot din makita na apektado ang ilan dahil sa bagyo. Pero unti unti, aahon tayo," Glaiza said in the caption.
Glaiza also called out for more donations by sharing a statement about the League of Filipino Actors' (AKTOR) relief efforts on Instagram.
“Habang tuloy tuloy ang pagtulong natin sa mga nasalanta ng sunod sunod na mga bagyo huwag tayong tumigil dahil ang mga kababayan naman natin sa Cagayan Valley ang kailangan ng tulong natin. Ngayon,” Glaiza wrote in her post.
“Walang maliit na tulong, lahat mahalaga. Walang pangangailangan na mas higit sa iba. Matutulungan lang natin ang lahat Kung tutulong tayong lahat,” she added.
Fellow AKTOR member Dingdong Dantes has also used his platform to help displaced families in Cagayan, while another AKTOR member Jasmine Curtis-Smith has gone on the ground to personally help in distributing donations from the organization.
Thousands of people lost their homes after Typhoon Ulysses swept across Luzon last week, bringing floods, strong winds and heavy rains.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), more than 60 deaths have been reported, two of which came from Central Luzon. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
