Marian Rivera to make theater debut virtually through 'Oedipus Rex' adaptation in Feb 2021

Marian Rivera will be bringing in her acting chops on the theater stage virtually through Tanghalang Ateneo's adaptation of 'Oedipus Rex' in February 2021.

On Instagram, the Kapuso Primetime Queen posted a photo of a poster for the theater show featuring herself.

"Ama, kapatid, at anak; katipan, kabiyak, at ina; pinaglangkap sa isang kahindik-hindik na kasalan! Lahat ng kadiri-diri sa tao, pinagsamut-samot sa isang kasalanan!” she wrote in the caption of her post.

Last September, actor, writer and filmmaker Katski Flores revealed that Marian will be joining them on stage as she makes her theater debut.

"This is a launching pad. Welcome to the tribe Marian Rivera! Enjoy and stay will you?" Flores wrote in the caption of the announcement posting a Zoom video conference.

Meanwhile, Tanghalang Ateneo's Yan Yuzon, who will be playing Oedipus, expressed his excitement over "sharing the stage with one of our country's greatest film and television actors in Marian Rivera-Dantes, making her first-ever steps 'onstage' — in one of the greatest tragedies ever told."

He said that the play will be "coming soon to a Zoom meeting near you," with the password 03d1pu5_R3x. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
