Jennylyn Mercado sets up ‘block screening’ for Dennis Trillo’s film ‘On The Job’ at home

Jennylyn Mercado wanted to show support for her boyfriend Dennis Trillo by watching “On The Job: The Missing 8” as many times as she can.

In a hilarious Instagram story, the actress showed everyone her very own “block screening,” but it was really just her streaming the film at home.

“Block screening happening now,” Jennylyn said in the caption.

“Pag gusto may paraan!” she added with a laugh emoji.

"On The Job: The Missing 8" is a Filipino film by Eric Matti that revolves around a journalist who looks into the disappearance of his colleagues.

John Arcilla made history this week as the first Filipino to bag the Coppa Volpi (Volpi Cup) for Best Actor at the 78th Venice Film Festival for his performance as the journalist, Sisoy Salas.

Jennylyn’s boyfriend Dennis Trillo, who also stars in the film, flew to Venice to attend the ceremony.

Most theaters in the Philippines have remained closed for more than a year now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But if you want, you can stream Erik Matti's "On The Job: The Missing 8” as a six-part series on HBO GO. The new episodes drop on September 19. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
