Jeric Gonzales shares how he plans to highlight Pinoy traits in his character in 'Start-Up' remake


Jeric Gonzales shared how he plans to bring in the Pinoy flavor into his character in the upcoming Philippine adaptation of hit K-drama series "Start-Up."

"Sa story we are guided naman by our writer," Jeric told GMA News Online in an interview.

"Doon sa traits natin as pinoys na sa tingin ko ano talaga  matiyaga tayo and then we're full of dreams [ang] mga Pinoy kahit saan tayo dalhin and 'yung hospitality talaga," he added.

"So ‘yun ‘yung mga traits na sa tingin ko magiging bahagi ko dun sa character ko," he said.

Meanwhile, Jeric who is also a fan of Korean dramas gave five titles of K-drama shows that he's a fan of including Goblin, Hotel Del Luna, Crash Landing on You, She Was Pretty, and What's Wrong with Secretary Kim.

On Tuesday, it was revealed on 24Oras that Yasmien Kurdi and Jeric will star alongside Alden Richards and Bea Alonzo in the "Start-Up" remake.

Jeric told the press he was thankful to GMA and "excited to work with our big stars" Alden, Bea, and Yasmien.

"Since napanuod ko ‘yung Start-Up and ang ganda ng story and ang ganda ng character plus ‘yung mga kasama ko talagang magagaling at malalaking stars natin sa showbiz industry," he said.

"Of course they are great actors and actresses, dito ko macha-challenge talaga 'yung sarili ko."

"Start-Up," a series about young entrepreneurs dreaming and working to hit it big and become successful, became a hit in 2020 when viewers and netizens started rooting for Team Good Boy and Team Do San.

It is yet to be revealed who will play the Filipino version of the characters in "Start-Up."

On March 4, it was revealed on "24Oras" that Alden and Bea will topbill the drama and it will be their first highly anticipated pairing. —JAB, GMA News.
