David Licauco admits feeling sepanx as 'Maria Clara at Ibarra' nears end

"Maria Clara at Ibarra" is now on its final week, and David Licauco is feeling the separation anxiety just like the fans of the show.

In Lhar Santiago's report on "24 Oras," Monday, the Pambansang Ginoo looked back on how the series changed his life and the many people he met along the way.

"Nakaka-emotional din na mawawala na siya but then I feel like nag-leave naman kami ng mark and legacy sa mga tao," he said.

David said he will miss playing his character Fidel, who was first dubbed by fans as "Sinaunang Red Flag" but eventually grew into a fan favorite.

Fidel is the love interest of Klay (played by Barbie Forteza), and their pairing as FiLay rose in popularity as fans could not resist their strong chemistry in the show.

"Si Fidel nakakatuwa 'yung personality niya na parang sa simula mayabang, maangas, until biglang dahil sa isang babae mag-iiba 'yung perspective niya sa buhay. Kumbaga napakaganda nung role," he said.

"Kung tatanungin ako na kung OK ba sa 'kin mag-play ulit ng Fidel, gagawin ko 'yun," he added.

"Maria Clara at Ibarra" airs on GMA Telebabad weekdays after "24 Oras." It is also livestreamed on GMANetwork.com/KapusoStream and full episodes are available on the GMA Network website and GMA app.
