Celeste Cortesi reflects on Miss Universe journey: 'Like the butterfly's metamorphosis'

Celeste Cortesi looked back on her pageant journey ahead of the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night.

In her new Instagram pictures, Celeste slayed her new bob hairstyle and wore a sexy baby blue bralette and wrap skirt. A lovely touch were the blue butterflies on her skin, which the beauty queen says is similar to her journey.

“We are a few days away from crowning the next Miss Universe Philippines. I can’t help but to reminisce the entire journey that contributed to who I am today,” she said in her caption.

“From all the struggles and hardships to the overwhelming support of everyone which I am very thankful for, and of course the once in a lifetime opportunity to represent the Philippines in an international stage,” she added.

Celeste said that she looks at her journey like the transformation of a butterfly.

“Like the butterfly’s metamorphosis, this entire experience has led me towards self-discovery and empowerment,” she said.

“This butterfly is ready to spread her wings and to take flight to greater heights,” she added.

Celeste bowed out of the 2022 Miss Universe pageant early, which was the first time since 2009 that the Philippines’ bet did not make it to the semifinals.

She is set to crown her successor at the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 coronation night on May 13 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

At the preliminary competition, Celeste told the candidates, "As long as you really stick on your principles and your values and you're guided by your purpose, you will be that kind of empowered and inspirational woman so that's really my advice."
