Herlene Budol vows to give her 'best performance' in Miss Grand Philippines 2023
Herlene “Hipon Girl” Budol reflected on her pageant journey ahead of the Miss Grand Philippines coronation night.
In an Instagram post, the actress and comedienne said that she will give her “best performance.”
“Ako nga pala si Herlene Nicole Budol nakikipag sapalaran sa panibagong hamon sa buhay. Kung kaya ng iba kakayanin din ng Hipon Girl [niyo],” she said.
“Win or [lose at least] maipakita ko uli ang panibagong transpormasyon ko bukas. Ang mahalaga ay babangon tayong muli sa pagkakamali. Dahil [hindi] lahat ng pagkakamali ay hindi maiitama,” she added.
Herlene thanked her supporters, glam team, manager, endorsements, family, and God. She also dedicated her work in the competition to her late grandparents.
The Miss Grand Philippines coronation happens tonight, July 13 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Herlene ran into a bit of controversy after allegedly making a “dogshow” during a pageant interview. She thought about quitting the competition due to the bashers but has since apologized.
Earlier, she showed off her new pasarela for the pageant, the “Grand Budol Walk.”
Herlene was the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 first runner-up, and garnered seven special awards. She was also set to compete in her first international pageant, Miss Planet International in 2022, but withdrew “[due] to uncertainties by the organizers” and that the candidates were not treated well.
Aside from pageantry, Herlene is the star of the GMA series “Magandang Dilag.”
