How Jugs Jugueta balances ‘It’s Showtime’ and Itchyworms

Simultaneously pursuing two careers may seem like a daunting idea to most, but That's exactly what Jugs Jugueta is doing with "It's Shotime" and Itchyworms.

In an interview on “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel,” Jugs Jugueta bared his secret on how he balances being a noontime host and a musician together.

“Time management,” Jugs said.

“When we first started, nawalan ako ng boses kasi hindi maganda ang time management skills ko,” he said, emphasizing the importance of rest in all of it.

“Nalaman ko na dapat after the show pahinga, pahinga ng boses. So parang tulog or whatever, and then sa gabi, pwede ka mag gig.”

Jugs continued, “So what we do is we get gigs that can fly after the show, parang kunwari, basta after the show tsaka kami pupunta pero kailangan pa rin may show, Showtime, tapos after the show tsaka ako pupunta doon sa lugar na mauuna.”

“Yung mag kabanda ko doon sa kunwari, recently we came from Davao, so in the morning we fly to Davao, ako after Showtime, I go straight to the airport, and then to the show, parang ganun,” he shared.

Jugs admitted that it is hard, “pero okay lang kasi masaya naman ako.”

“Mayroon akong laging sinasabi, I get to hang out with my friends during lunch and then I get to hang out with my friends at night, parang ganun lang eh,” he added.

Jugs is the frontman of the OPM band Itchyworms and a host on "It's Showtime."

In 2020, the band released a 9-track, quarantine-themed album. And as if Jugs wasn't doing enough, the band released two holiday tracks — "Maligayang Pasko" and "Have A Merry Christmas" — that same year.
