7 things we learned about Radson Flores, the Mark Gordon of 'Voltes V: Legacy'

Radson Flores may be the broody Mark Gordon in "Voltes V: Legacy," but there is more to the handsome Sparkle actor than meets the eye.

In the latest episode of "Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel," Radson revealed several things about himself that not many people knew about him.

For those curious about this fast-rising heartthrob, here are seven things we learned about Radson in the podcast.

1. At 24, he's already living independently

Radson is already living independently at the age of 24 because of his work commitments as an artist.

"Most of the time, since marami pang promotions and workshops, doon po ako umuuwi sa condo ko near GMA," he said.

"Recently lang ako lumipat sa condo, may adjustment period din ako doon na na-homesick din pero kailangan eh, kailangan ko talaga ma-practice na maging independent," he added.

2. He initially auditioned for Zardoz in "Voltes V: Legacy"

Radson said he initially wanted to audition for the role of Zardoz in "Voltes V: Legacy" because he likes playing antagonists.

"After po ng 'StarStruck' Season 7, nagkaroon po ng audition for 'Voltes V,' eh ako po mahilig ako sa anime so [sabi ko], 'kailangan ko talaga makuha 'to,'" Radson said.

"Nag audition ako, una, ang gusto ko audition-an talaga is Zardoz, kasi gusto 'yung kontrabida roles tapos pagkapasok ko doon sa room, sabi ni Direk Mark, 'No, you will be playing Mark Gordon.'"

3. He took legal management at UST

Radson earned a degree in legal management at the University of Santo Tomas. His dream is to become a lawyer, but he has to put that on hold to pursue acting.

"Nag-PhilSAT na ako, pumasa na ako, ang gagawin ko na lang mag-a-apply na lang ako sa law school, pero parang na-spark 'yung interest ko ulit mag-artista," he said.

"In-assess ko 'yung situation, sabi ko, sa ngayon, try ko muna 'yung pag a-artista kasi 'yung law school naman, puwede mag hintay 'yan," he added.

4. Radson's family owns Tipas Hopia

Radson's family founded Tipas Hopia, a local take on the Chinese snack Hopia.

"'Yun ang business ng family namin, 'yung [mga] naka box na Hopia," he said.

5. Radson is currently single

For the single ladies out there, yes, Radson admitted he is currently single.

Right now, ang focus ko lang is 'yung bonding ko with my family, and then second, 'yung career," he said.

"[Sa kanila] ako nagbibigay talaga ng effort, kasi minsan lang eh, minsan lang talaga 'yung ganito na opportunity."

6. Radson's nickname is Kit

Radson's full name is Francis Kit Radson Manalo Flores, but he goes by the nickname Kit.

"'Yung Radson, sa lolo ko galing, and then Kit, dad ko po nagbigay, meaning po niyan is bearer of Christ, short po siya for Christopher," he said. "Francis, pinangalan po ng isa ko pong lolo from St. Francis."

7. Radson's showbiz crush is Carla Abellana

Radson has a crush on Carla Abellana, and it's not a secret as he proudly declared it in the podcast.

"Kasi naka-work ko po siya sa Voltes V and sobrang bait niya po talaga, sobrang talino, and ang saya po kausap talaga," he said.

"Sobrang ganda niya, sobrang bait, sobrang talino na parang totoong tao ba si Ate Carla?" he added.

Carla played Mary Ann Armstrong, the mother of Steve, Big Bert, and Little Jon in "Voltes V: Legacy."

Aside from Radson, "Voltes V: Legacy" stars Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho.
