Iza Calzado, Karylle, Diana Zubiri send heartfelt messages to cast of 'Sang'gre'

The original Sang’gres have nothing but love and support for the new generation of diwatas.

Iza Calzado, Karylle, and Diana Zubiri, who headlined “Encantadia” in 2005, sent video messages to the cast of the spin-off series “Sang’gre” during their table read.

“It’s your Sang’gre Alena reporting, woke up like this,” Karylle said in the video posted on the “Encantadia” Facebook page. “Just wishing everybody who is part of ‘Sang’gre’ good luck."

Karylle added that she thinks the “Sang’gre blessings and turnovers should be done in person.”

She added, “I hope this new ‘Sang’gre’ show will take you to places your heart never imagined, open the doors. Asnamanon voyanazar [open sesame].”

Diana then greeted the cast with “Avisala! [Greetings!]”

The original Danaya said, “Ako pa ay nagagalak at muli ang pagpapatuloy ng aming nasimulan kaya ngayon palang, syempre congratulations at good luck sa lahat ng cast at bumubuo ng ‘Sang’gre.’”

Diana gave a special shoutout to Bianca Umali who plays Terra, Danaya’s daughter.

“Anak ka ni Danaya kaya I love you, I love you, I love you ka talaga. Congratulations and avisala eshma [thank you].”

Iza also opened with an “avisala” and introduced herself as Amihan.

“Gusto ko lang magsend ng aking best wishes and a lot of good energy para sa bagong cast ng ‘Encantadia: Sang’gre,’” she said.

Iza teased, “I hope to see and meet all of you soon, maybe on set.”

Sunshine Dizon, the original Pirena, was unable to give her message. However, Glaiza De Castro, who played the character in 2016, gave her well wishes to the cast and was also present at the table read. She is set to reprise her role as Pirena in the spin-off.

More stars from the “Encantadia” 2016 remake such as Gabbi Garcia, Sanya Lopez, Ruru Madrid, Rocco Nacino, and Mikee Quintos also gave video messages.

Sang’gre,” the upcoming spin-off of “Encantadia,” stars Bianca Umali as Terra, the new keeper of the Brilyante ng Lupa; Faith Da Silva as Flamarra, keeper of the Brilyante ng Apoy; and Kelvin Miranda as Adamus, the new protector of the Brilyante ng Tubig.

The latest cast member to be revealed is Rhian Ramos, who will play Mitena, Cassiopeia's twin.

Series director Mark Reyes said last June that production for “Sang’gre” will start soon, with the cast now training for their fight scenes.
