Enrique Gil on Liza Soberano’s performance in ‘Lisa Frankenstein’: Hopie is ‘so amazing’

It's safe to say Enrique Gil is Liza Soberano’s number one fan!

The actor caught the Philippine premiere of Liza’s Hollywood debut film, “Lisa Frankenstein" and said in a video, “Hopie was so amazing.”

"I mean, she said it was funny, but I wasn’t expecting [it to be] this funny," he added.

"She’s amazing," he said before calling on Filipinos to watch the film.

“Lisa Frankenstein” premiered in Philippine cinemas on February 7.

Inspired by the gothic novel "Frankenstein" by English writer Mary Shelley, "Lisa Frankenstein" follows Lisa (played by Kathryn Newton), a misunderstood teenager, and her love interest who happens to be a handsome corpse (played by Cole Sprouse).

The Filipino actress plays Taffy, the popular yet kind girl who is also Lisa’s stepsister.

The film is Liza’s Hollywood debut, which is a "kind of movie I've always wanted to do," she said previously.

Liza’s performance has been receiving rave reviews, with American filmmaker Jo Russo among those who are impressed.

Earlier this week, "Lisa Frankenstein" premiered in LA, where our own Liza looked like a total star. On Instagram, she posted a reel from her experience and said "I want this memory to last a lifetime."

In 2023, Liza started a new era when she signed with James Reid’s talent agency, Careless. Aside from Hollywood, Liza also plans to enter Korean entertainment.
