Jessica Villarubin on why she was open about her rhinoplasty journey: 'Para hindi na i-question ng mga tao'

After winning "The Clash" Season 3, Jessica Villarubin fulfilled one of her dreams in life, which is to undergo rhinoplasty surgery.

On Tuesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the Sparkle star said that she made sure that the procedure wouldn't affect her voice.

"Before po ginawa 'yung surgery, Tito Boy, actually tinanong ko din po kay Dra. Vicki Belo kung ano po 'yung mangyayari and they made sure naman po na hindi po maaapektuhan 'yung throat or anything. Siguro, konti 'yung breathing lang," she said.

When asked why she was very open about her makeover, the singer said, "In-open ko siya kasi mahalata eh na nagpaayos ako so para hindi na i-question [ng] mga tao, in-open ko na na ganito gusto ko at eto 'yung gusto ko talagang gawin before pa kasi I was bullied before growing up."

Jessica said that it had always been her dream since she was in high school.

"Gusto ko nang ibahin kasi nung bata pa ako, palagi po akong sinasabihan na pangit. Pangit talaga, maganda lang 'yung boses ko," she said.

Jessica also opened up about how other people would say that she only has a great voice but has no "star quality."

"Kaya nung after nung 'The Clash,' eh nabigyan ako ng opportunity na ito 'yung gusto ko. Gusto ko na tong gawin, so I did it," she said.

But despite being bullied before, Jessica holds no grudge against those who said hurtful words to her.

"Never akong nagsumbat ng mga taong gumano'n sakin. Like, I just work hard, I just believe in God, ginawa ko lang 'yung tama kasi minsan, jina-judge tayo ng tao eh na hindi naman talaga tayo kilala," she said.

She continued, "So, 'yung sa'kin talaga, 'yung Diyos lang talaga 'yung nakapagtibay ng loob ko."

Jessica was named "The Clash" Season 3 Grand Champion in 2020.

On "All Out Sundays" in 2021, she showcased her new look.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Jessica said that she has no regrets about her decision and that she has become happier.
