Maxene Magalona remembers Francis M on his 15th death anniversary: 'I hope to make you proud'

Maxene Magalona dedicated an Instagram post for her late father, Francis M, on his 15th death anniversary.

The actress posted a series of throwback pictures with the Master Rapper, as well as ones with her siblings.

“This is me trying to send love to my father’s spirit, wherever he may be. We lost him 15 years ago,” Maxene said in her post.

She then told her dad, “I love you, Pop! I hope to make you proud.”

Maxene also shared a quote from Jamie Anderson about grief.

“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.”

She also visited Francis M’s grave on Wednesday.

On what would have been his 59th birthday last year, Maxene honored her late dad with a short but meaningful message, calling him “the goat.” She also encouraged her supporters to play his songs and listen to his messages.

Maxene also memorably released a stripped-down version of the Francis M classic “Kaleidoscope World.” She wanted to highlight the powerful and timeless meaning of the '90s song. Maxene also dedicated her healing journey to her dad.

In 2022, Francis M appeared as a hologram at the Eraserheads reunion concert. He performed his verse in the opening number “Superproxy” alongside his sons Elmo and Arkin.

Francis “Kiko” Magalona died in 2009 due to leukemia. The Master Rapper’s hit songs include “Mga Kababayan,” “3 Stars and a Sun,” and “Ito ang Gusto Ko.”
