Winwyn Marquez on celebrating Ahtisa Manalo's Miss Universe Philippines win: ‘Gano’n ako pinalaki’

Despite not winning the crown, Winwyn Marquez was still all smiles and graciously clapped for Ahtisa Manalo as she was being crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025.

On Thursday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Winwyn said that while all the candidates wanted to win the title, she knew it was destined for one person.

“I want to celebrate other people’s success. That’s me eh. Gano’n ako pinalaki,” she said.

According to Winwyn, we live in an “unkind” world, “and the least we can do is to uplift others."

"I want to see someone happy in their moment and kung sana mangyari sa ‘kin ‘yung time ko again, not just in pageant, I hope they celebrate it with me with the same heart,” she said.

Even though she did not win the prestigious national title, Winwyn remains busy with brand deals connected to the pageant.

“Actually, nagulat din po ako kasi akala ko ‘pag first runner-up, wala nang masyadong gagawin. But I wanna thank God and, of course, the organization kasi tuloy-tuloy pa rin po ‘yung ginagawa ko. I’m part of the shoots. Mayro’n pa rin akong mga ginagawa for the brands. So nagulat din po ako na gano’n,” she said.

Miss Universe Philippines 2025 marked Winwyn’s pageantry comeback, representing Muntinlupa.

On Instagram, she said that everything about the journey was “so unexpected... a beautiful surprise I never thought would be mine.” — Carby Basina/LA, GMA Integrated News
