'The Master Cutter' is No. 1 on Netflix's 'Top 10 TV Shows in the Philippines Today'
"The Master Cutter," headlined by Dingdong Dantes, just made its premiere on GMA Prime on Monday, but even before its television debut, the action-drama series already made a splash on Netflix, where it debuted on May 8
As seen on Netflix, "The Master Cutter" is currently no. 1 on the "Top 10 TV Shows in the Philippines Today."
In Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras" Monday, Dingdong said that he and the production team are just happy to share their work with a wider audience.
"Masaya lang po talaga kami na ma-ishare ang aming gawa hindi lang sa telebisyon kung hindi pati na rin sa Southeast Asia through Netflix and mas excited kami dahil simula po ngayon gabi, talagang makikita at mapapanood na ng lahat ng tao ang 'Master Cutter," he said.
Max Collins, who stars as Elaine opposite Dingdong's Atoy, also expressed her joy over the show's reception from Netflix viewers.
"The fact na nagustuhan po ng mga tao, naging number one po kami as Netflix. Wow, what a big achievement," she shared.
"I'm so thankful because Ive always looked up to him and Yan and I've loved working with both of them, so I'm just very honored," she also said of Dingdong and wife Marian Rivera.
"The Master Cutter" follows Atoy, a retired soldier who becomes a tailor and tracker-for-hire. It is directed by Dominic Zapata.
Per Dingdong, he enjoys portraying Atoy, adding that his character is also in search of a deeper relationship with his father.
Meanwhile, cast members Shuvee Etrata and Charlie Fleming were all praises for Dingdong as a co-star.
"Sobrang bait talaga ni Kuya Dingdong, hindi niya pinaramdam sa amin lahat na dapat kaming matakot. You feel the warmth 'pag nandiyan siya sa paligid and sobrang galing," said Shuvee.
"He's very kuya po like on the set and even way before. What I super love about Kuya Dong is never talaga nagbago 'yung trato niya sa isang tao," added Charlie.
"The Master Cutter" also stars Paolo Contis, Jo Berry, Rio Locsin, Joey Marquez, Tonton Gutierrez, Anthony Constantino, Prince Carlos, and Polo Ravales.
Catch the series Mondays to Fridays at 8 p.m. on GMA Prime after "24 Oras." It is also streaming on Netflix. —CDC, GMA News
