BGYO is set to guest star in the Kapuso series "Born to Shine."

According to Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras" Thursday, the members of the P-pop group are nothing short of excited for their first acting project together.

"Ako pinakamasaya kasi first time naming magkaroon ng acting project na kumpleto kaming lima and at first syempre di ko alam e-expect ko pero so far sa nagawa naming first days sa scenes, lahat kami nag-e-enjoy and natural lang sa amin," Gelo Rivera said.

The P-pop artists will appear in the show as themselves, so they do not have to go through much adjustment.

"It's just, you know, memorize the lines and try to say it more para pagdating dun okay na and it's easier because I'm not trying to pretend like someone, as me siya," shared Mikki Clavero.

The musical drama series depicts the struggles of P-pop groups and aspiring singers in pursuit of their dreams, a reality that BGYO can relate to.

"May mga late night training na nakakapagod and we're fighting or getting annoyed kasi it's almost 2 a.m. tapos we're practicing dances pa rin pero it's fun," said Nate Porcalla.

Meanwhile, "Born to Shine" stars Zephanie and Michael Sager gave the BGYO members a warm welcome on set.

"Having them sa 'Born to Shine' syempre nakakatuwa, I think simula na 'to ng mga iba pang P-pop groups na makakasama namin so nakatuwa na may iba pa kaming mga kasabayan sa industry na nasa story ng 'Born to Shine,'" said Zephanie.

"We're given such a great opportunity to present the P-pop community, showing their experience and becoming an idol, a trainee, and mahirap din ang pinagdaanan nila and ngayon na may isang legit P-pop group guesting, parang more to come sana," added Michael.

Zephanie also expressed her gratitude to supporters of the show, noting that the show reflects what they go through in real life as artists.

"Kung ano 'yung kwento na nakikita sa 'Born to Shine' 'yun din 'yung kwento sa totoong buhay and ang masasabi ko lang po dun is thankful ako kasi it helps us grow pa rin as an artists, as an individual, so challenge lang konting sacrifices minsan pero worth it lahat,'" she said.

BGYO, composed of Gelo, Nate, Mikki, Akira Morishita, and JL Toreliza, made a comeback with their single "Fresh" in February.

In March, they performed at the DUNK Showcase in Japan. They also performed at the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 coronation night in May.

Meanwhile, "Born to Shine" appears Mondays to Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime. —CDC, GMA News
