Roi Vinzon admits he initially did not want son Anton to join 'PBB: Celeb Collab Edition 2.0'

Veteran action star Roi Vinzon admitted that he initially did not want his son, Anton Vinzon, to join "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0."

On Friday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Roi shared that his hesitation was due to the fact that Anton had never experienced being away from them for a long time.

"Hindi ko alam kung ano mangyayari sa kaniya kasi ayoko matagal — ano New Year, Christmas, wala ka sa 'min? Sandali lang, hindi nawalay sa 'min 'to eh," he said.

Per Roi, he became more open to the idea when Anton explained to him what happens inside "PBB."

"Pero kung halimbawa, explain mo sa 'kin kung anong ginagawa sa 'PBB,' okay, let's see. Nung dumating siya sa puntong ganun, sabi ko, actually at least alam ko nandun siya, safe siya. Sabi ko okay, okay," he said.

Roi added that he and Anton got to see each other when he visited him inside Bahay ni Kuya during Christmas last year.

The father-and-son duo is set to star in the upcoming Kapuso sports drama series, "Kamao." This is Anton's first-ever lead role.

Previously, the Sparkle star told GMA News Online that the series is his tribute to his dad.

"Tribute ko po talaga kay papa ‘to kasi siya po talaga ‘yung superhero ko and talagang he’s my best friend," he said.

"Kamao" also stars Katrina Halili, Neil Ryan Sese, Amy Austria, Wendell Ramos, and Chanty Videla, among others.

It is set to premiere on May 25, 3:20 p.m., on GMA Afternoon Prime. —CDC, GMA News
