Glaiza De Castro walks runway of bridal fashion show
Glaiza De Castro is expanding her pursuits beyond the screen as she explores the world of fashion and theater!
According to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras” Thursday, the Sparkle star took to the runway during a bridal fashion show at a mall in Taguig City, where she showcased a modern Filipiniana bridal ensemble designed by Filipino designer Daryl Maat.
Although she admitted she is not accustomed to joining fashion shows, Glaiza said she enjoyed the experience.
“In-enjoy ko siya. It celebrates Filipino culture so parang it's something that I'm very familiar with,” Glaiza said.
The fashion show also brought back memories of Glaiza’s wedding to her husband, David Rainey, who was present at the event and showed his support by wearing a matching barong.
“Very thankful naman ako kasi isa rin 'yun sa mga gusto kong makita niya. Isa rin 'yun sa paraan para ipakita ko 'yung kultura natin,” she shared.
After wrapping up her role in “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre,” Glaiza shifted her focus to the stage, making her theater debut in “She’s Electric,” one of the featured productions of the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Virgin Labfest.
The play is directed by “You’re My Favorite Song” director JP Habac.
“Sa wakas ay isa na 'kong theater actress, wow! Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na makapag-perform live kasi isa 'to sa mga iniisip kong gawin dati pa,” she said.
Meanwhile, Glaiza also expressed pride in the documentary film “58th,” produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, in which she stars.
The film continues to gain international recognition, currently competing at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. It has also been invited to participate at the Doc Edge Festival 2026 in New Zealand.
“Mayroong campaign ang GMA Pictures at GMA Public Affairs na pa-biyaheng Oscars so kung makapasok tayo at kung manalo tayo sa Doc Edge may posibilidad na makapasok tayo sa Oscars. 'Di ba ang saya!”
Adding to her recent accomplishments, Glaiza revealed that she and fellow Kapuso actress Rhian Ramos recently traveled to Thailand for a screening of their GL film “I Fell, It’s Fine.”
“Ang daming mga Thai fans ang fans din ng RaStro so may mga ibang fans na nag-fly specifically to support us,” she said.
