Sparkle artists Katrina Halili, Angel Guardian named Best Actress at 2026 World Class Excellence Japan Awards

Sparkle artists Katrina Halili and Angel Guardian were both hailed as Best Actress at the 2026 World Class Excellence Japan Awards (WCEJA) for their exemplary acting performances.

Katrina received the distinction for her outstanding portrayal of Emma in the GMA Afternoon Prime series Mommy Dearest, while Angel was recognized for her remarkable performance as Sang’gre Deia in GMA Prime’s recently concluded fantasy drama, "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre."

The World Class Excellence Japan Awards (WCEJA), now celebrating its 10th anniversary, is an organization that honors outstanding global professionals and performing artists for their exemplary contributions to their respective fields. This year’s awarding ceremony was held on June 18 at the Heritage Hotel in Pasay City.

Katrina was emotional upon receiving her first-ever Best Actress award, dedicating the honor not only to herself but also to everyone who continues to believe in her and inspires her to hone her craft.

In an Instagram post celebrating her victory, she wrote: “First Best Actress Award mula sa World Class Excellence Japan Awards. Isang malaking karangalan po ito para sa akin bilang artista at bilang isang taong patuloy na nagsisikap na pagbutihin ang aking craft.”

Meanwhile, Angel expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition: “Bilang isang aktres, napakalaking bagay po nito sa akin [Best Actress Award]. Nakakataba po ng puso na malaman na may mga taong nakakita, nagmahal, at naka-appreciate ng aking pagganap bilang Sang’gre Deia.”

Even while "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre" was still airing, Angel had already earned widespread praise for her portrayal, with audiences and fans embracing her character.

Joining the roster of winners was Rio Locsin, who was named Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series for her role in GMA’s primetime action-drama "The Master Cutter."
