Iñigo Badillo thankful for ‘The Clash Teens’ Top 12 spot, credits family, band for shaping his journey

Making it to the Top 12 of “The Clash Teens” is already a dream come true for aspiring singer Iñigo Badillo, who feels nothing but gratitude as he continues his journey in the singing competition.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Iñigo admitted that earning a place among the competition's remaining contenders is a milestone he has long hoped for, especially after going through multiple rounds of auditions and screenings.

"I'm really happy, and I'm really blessed right now," Iñigo said. "Since ‘The Clash’ started—from the second screening to the final screening—everything has been smooth. Everything that's happening to me right now is getting better."

The young singer said that every stage of the competition has been a learning experience, and advancing to the Top 12 serves as validation that his hard work and perseverance are paying off.

Outside of “The Clash,” Iñigo is no stranger to performing in front of live audiences. He is the main vocalist of his band, Beast Mode, a variety band that regularly performs different musical genres at various events.

According to Iñigo, his experience as a band vocalist has become one of his greatest strengths inside the competition.

"My band has helped me a lot because we're total performers," he shared. "It also helped me connect with people. When I perform here, I imagine that I'm performing with my band. That's why I'm comfortable on stage and I can sing and perform well."

He explained that years of performing with a live band have taught him how to engage audiences and remain confident under pressure. These skills have proven valuable in a televised singing competition where contestants are expected to deliver not only vocal excellence but also compelling stage presence.

Beyond his musical background, Iñigo said his biggest motivation comes from the unwavering support of his family, particularly his father and brother.

"My biggest inspirations are my brother and my dad," he said.

Iñigo recalled how his father had been with him since the beginning of his musical journey, accompanying him to workshops and auditions and encouraging him to pursue opportunities that could help him grow as an artist.

"Since I was a kid, my dad would bring me to workshops and auditions. He guided me to join ‘The Clash.’ He's also my first supporter," he shared.

The aspiring singer added that his father never failed to support him, whether by attending his performances or making sure he had everything he needed to continue chasing his dreams.

"He provides everything I need, even financially. He's always there in all of my performances," Iñigo said.

Because of their sacrifices and encouragement, Iñigo said every performance he delivers on the “The Clash” stage is dedicated to his loved ones.

"I dedicate all of my performances to my brother and my family," he said.

As the competition becomes more intense, Iñigo said he has also gained valuable life lessons that extend beyond singing.

Looking back on his experience so far, he said “The Clash” has taught him the importance of building genuine relationships with fellow contestants while maintaining the determination needed to succeed.

"What I've learned in my journey here in ‘The Clash' is to communicate well with others and get along with everyone," he said. "At the same time, you shouldn't lose your competitiveness."

Iñigo remains focused on giving his best in every performance while carrying with him the lessons, experience, and support that have helped him reach the Top 12.

Backed by years of performing with Beast Mode and inspired by the encouragement of his family, Iñigo hopes to continue making the most of his opportunity on “The Clash” and prove that he has what it takes to become the competition's next champion. —CDC, GMA News
