Alden Richards, Nadine Lustre, 'Love, Siargao' stars express love for the island
The advanced screening event for the mid-season of "Love, Siargao" was a star-studded affair.
In Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras" on Monday, lead stars Alden Richards and Nadine Lustre were present to be with fans, as well as Kyline Alcantara, Kim Ji Soo, AZ Martinez, Vince Maristela, Kakki Teodoro, and Cristopher Diwata.
Alden hopes the series would help the audience care more for the environment.
"More than the love story, it's the love for what you have in front of you in terms of environment, the natural resources that we have," Asia's Multimedia Star said. "It's a campaign for acknowledgement and protection."
For Nadine, living in Siargao helped her take care of ther cast mates.
"Nagyayayaan kami. We suggest nice spots to hang out in, have lunch, dinner, ganyan. Punta sila sa bahay, nag-gi-gym kami, ganyan," she said.
For Ji Soo and Kyline, they said they experienced the Siargao curse, or falling in love with the island.
"I extended after taping and I enjoyed the island. I do surf and exploring the island," he said. "I miss the lifestyle in there. I can see the sunrise and the sunset."
Kyline added that it is not a curse but a blessing.
"Parang lahat kami, merong thinking na puwede ba tayo mag-stay, or like balik-balik tayo dito, or like tumira kaya tayo dito parang si Ate Nadine," she said.
The series follows the story of Jao (Alden) and Kara (Nadine), two strangers with opposing principles in life whose paths eventually cross as they navigate the highs and lows of modern romance.
"Love, Siargao" airs every Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. on Viu Philippines. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
