Martin del Rosario wins Best Actor at Cinemalaya 2026

Martin del Rosario is this year’s Cinemalaya Best Actor in a Leading Role.

The Kapuso star received his trophy at the awarding ceremony at Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong City. He won for his portrayal of Neil in "Tayo Lang ang Nakakaalam."

Neil is a gay man taking care of his partner, Bong, who has HIV. They keep their relationship private.

Martin thanked the cast and crew of "Tayo Lang ang Nakakaalam" in his speech and said it was his first Cinemalaya Best Actor award.

"Our film is about struggles of queer relationships, of LGBT. There are things that they choose to hide because of fear of being judged by society," he said in Filipino.

"So let’s end the stigma towards LGBT. End the stigma now sa HIV."

The cast, which includes Epy Quizon, Yayo Aguila, and Miguel Ordon, also won Best Ensemble performance.

"Tayo Lang ang Nakakaalam" also won Best Cinematography and Best Sound. —MGP, GMA News
