Liza Soberano joins jury for Golden Globes Impact Prize for Documentary

Liza Soberano has joined the jury for the Golden Globes Impact Prize for Documentary, which will be presented during the upcoming Venice Film Festival.

According to Variety, the prize was launched by the Golden Globes and Artemis Rising Foundation with support from Think-Film Impact Production.

It recognizes a documentary that highlights important social issues through storytelling.

"I've always believed that film has the power to do more than entertain — it can challenge injustice, offer safety, inspire hope and remind us of our shared humanity," Liza said.

"Documentary filmmaking is where some of the most courageous and unforgettable storytelling is happening today. I'm honored to serve on this jury," she added.

The jury also includes Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne, Artemis Rising Foundation founder Regina K. Scully, Impact Partners co-founder Geralyn White Dreyfous, and Think-Film Impact Production CEO Danielle Turkov Wilson.

The winning documentary will receive a $10,000 cash prize from Artemis Rising Foundation.

The 83rd Venice Film Festival will run from September 2 to 12.

Liza stars in "Forgotten Island" with H.E.R. They voice Raissa and Jo, two childhood best friends.

Aside from Liza and H.E.R., the movie also stars Lea Salonga, Dave Franco, Dolly de Leon, Manny Jacinto, Jenny Slate, Jo Koy, and Ronny Chieng.
