Shuvee Etrata explains exchange between Gerald Anderson, Anthony Constantino’s father during basketball game

Shuvee Etrata shared her take on the exchange between Gerald Anderson and the father of Anthony Constantino during a celebrity basketball game, clarifying the two didn't get into a fight.

On Tuesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Shuvee first began saying such incidents can happen during basketball games.

“I think that really happens during the game. Basketball is a physical sport. It happens. Even I would do that,” she said. "‘Hoy, Gerald!’ Ganon."

“They didn’t fight," Shuvee added. "I think Kuya Gerald was just wondering who was speaking. He didn’t know who was speaking. Then Anthony said, ‘That’s my father.’ ‘I’m sorry,’” she said.

The exchange drew attention after videos circulated online showing Anthony’s father and Gerald during the celebrity basketball match “Bida sa Arena: The Rematch” at SM Seaside Cebu Arena on September 26.

In her interview, Shuvee said she understands Anthony’s father reacting during the game, saying it was understandable for a parent to do so.

“Especially because Gerald is Bisaya, and I’m Bisaya too, so I do that as well. And I think, as a father, that’s really, really understandable,” she said.

Aside from Anthony, also part of Team Sparkle were David Licauco, Will Ashley, Josh Ford, Dustin Yu, Rayver Cruz, Prince Carlos, Andre Paras, Mateo Monzones, Ralph Miaco, Shan Vesagas, and Derrick Monasterio.
