Claudine Barretto files cyber libel complaint vs Cristy Fermin, co-host Romel Villamor

Claudine Barretto on Tuesday to filed a cyber libel complaint against Cristy Fermin and her program co-host Romel Chika or Romel Villamor before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday, Tito Boy reported that Claudine's last straw was Cristy's alleged continuous defamation against her since the past year.

The actress also said that Cristy has said severe words against her, compared to other stars like Bea Alonzo and Sharon Cuneta, who also filed cyber libel complaints.

Cristy said she is prepared to face Claudine's complaint.

"See you in court," the talk show host said, as reported by Tito Boy.

In May 2024, Bea filed a cyber libel complaint against Cristy, Ogie Diaz, and their co-hosts on their respective programs.

Bea's complaint affidavit states she was the victim of false, malicious, and damaging information from someone who pretended to be close to her, which was published and discussed on Ogie and Cristy’s online shows without any basis.

In July 2025, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court issued warrants of arrest against Fermin, Villamor, and Alvarez. The following month, they posted bail worth P48,000 each.

Bea withdrew her case against Cristy after the host posted an apology on her vlog.

Sharon and her husband Senator Kiko Pangilinan also filed a complaint against Cristy in 2024 for "broadcasting baseless and malicious statements regarding their personal and family affairs."

Dominic Roque, Bea's former fiancé, filed a complaint that same year due to "malicious statements and innuendos." —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
