Rufa Mae and Erik: A cross-channel affair

Being in separate networks sometimes takes its toll on the relationship between Rufa Mae Quinto and Erik Santos. Rufa Mae herself admitted this in a recent interview over QTV. Rufa Mae is a top comedienne at GMA while Erik has been with ABS-CBN ever since he joined and won in the singing tilt Star in a Million in 2003. Rufa Mae clarified, though, that the two giant networks support their relationship. She did not give details, but she said in jest that the two competing companies have "joined forces" in supporting their love affair. According to the curvaceous comic, one of those times when they feel the difficulty of being talents in separate networks is when they celebrate occasions, like their birthdays, in TV shows where they can't appear together in to show their love and support for each other. In the same interview, Rufa Mae admitted she did not give Erik a hard time courting her. She said it didn’t take long for her say yes because the talented singer had been her crush all along. She also intimated that in the past, she had suitors who wooed her for many months, but this did not guarantee her happiness as those men showed their true colors after a while. Erik’s case was different, Rufa Mae said, because they had been friends, and she knew his character before he began seeing her in a different light. The sexy comedienne said she felt Erik’s kindness early on, so it didn't take very long for her to fall for the singer. Rufa Mae likewise repeated that her beau is not gay, contrary to rumors. Last August, she and fellow GMA talent Richard Gomez had a tiff over the latter's unsavory comment hinting about Erik's alleged sexual preference. - GMANews.TV
