Didith did it again: Chugging booze

Didith Reyes, the sultry performer and hit maker in the '70s, is back to her drinking problem and the habit could ruin her dream of making a singing comeback, according to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) Sunday. In his column posted on PEP’s Web site, Jojo Gabinete bared that the singer, known for caressing her body sensually while singing the hit song “Araw-araw, Gabi-Gabi," was caught taking solace in gin again. “Sinira ni Didith ang pangako niya sa mga tumutulong sa kanya. Bumalik siya sa pag-inom ng alak, at para hindi mahalata ang paglalasing ay inilalagay niya sa bote ng mineral water ang gin," according to Gabinete. Reyes, 58, resurfaced last year to complain that her live-in partner had abused her. Her friends, among them entertainment writer Aster Amoyo, helped Reyes find work. “Late last year, nagtagpo sina Didith at Aster. Awang-awa si Aster kay Didith kaya ipinakiusap ng una sa kanyang kaibigan na si Les Reyes—nakababatang kapatid ni Ricky Reyes—na bigyan ng trabaho sa Reyes Haircutters, ang beauty salon na pag-aari ni Les, ang dating singer," wrote Gabinete. Reyes, who is plotting to revive her career after getting support from friends, had picked up fights with people around her because of the habit, Gabinete said. “Nalaman ng mga kasamahan sa trabaho ang gimik ni Didith dahil hindi niya makontrol ang sarili sa tuwing nalalasing. Nagwawala siya at inaaway ang mga kasamahan niya sa dormitoryo na inuupahan ni Les para sa kanilang lahat," Gabinete added. - GMANews.TV
