Juan Karlos's 'ERE' ranks no. 2 on Spotify's Global Viral Songs
Juan Karlos's song "Ere" is reaching great heights!
The track has climbed to no. 2 on Spotify's Global Viral Songs, just behind "Si No Estas" by Spanish musician Iñigo Quintero.
According to Spotify, "Ere" is the most streamed local song in a day on Spotify Philippines with over 1.2 million streams.
It also ranks no. 87 on Spotify's Top 100 Global, making Juan Karlos the first Filipino artist to debut on the chart.
In a YouTube video released by U Music Philippines, the content and fan-focused arm of Universal Music Group, the "Buwan" hitmaker said the milestone has not really sunk in for him.
"Since I don't have expectations of my songs blowing up, honestly I don't know what to feel. Like woah. It's crazy. Next song," he said.
"Ere" has also gone viral on TikTok, with many users editing select lines to their videos, such as the "Tatlong bilyon, ikaw lang ang aking gusto."
The song is one of the tracks of Juan Karlos's latest album "Sad Songs and Bullshit Part 1."
In an Instagram post, Juan Karlos said the album started with 18 songs, but it was divided into two parts so listeners can digest each track. Part 2 will be released early next year.
He also said it was originally a compilation of love songs he wrote for someone.
"Things didn't turn out the way I hoped for. The songs started to not make any sense. All the songs for love turned into songs for sadness. For me at least, they just became a bunch of bullshit. Hence, Sad Songs and Bullshit," he said.
The musician was previously in a relationship with Filipino-German model Maureen Wroblewitz. They broke up last year.
