Seventeen's Hoshi to undergo surgery following ACL injury during military service

Hoshi of Seventeen will be undergoing surgery after injuring his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during military service.

In a Weverse letter published by Soompi, the idol told fans that he must focus on his recovery following his surgery. Hoshi is a member of the Army Taekwondo Demonstration Team and was practicing with the Ground Forces performance team when he got injured.

“As a result, after surgery, I will need to focus on my recovery for the time being, so I will be unable to participate in the scheduled Taekwondo Demonstration Team events and the Ground Forces Festival,” he said.

“I worked hard to prepare for these performances because I was truly waiting for and looking forward to them, so I feel very disappointed that I won’t be able to be a part of them, and I’m also very sorry to the Carats who had been waiting for them,” he added.

Although he won’t be able to participate in the event, Hoshi hopes that fans will support both the Taekwondo Demonstration Team and the Ground Forces performance team, the latter of which includes fellow Seventeen member Woozi.

“I will receive proper treatment and focus on my recovery so that I can quickly return in good health,” he said.

He ended his message with a “Horanghae” or “I tiger you” for fans, and told them not to worry too much.

Hoshi started his mandatory military service in September 2025. Wonwoo and Woozi also enlisted in 2025.

Mingyu enlisted on September 10, while Seungkwan and Dino will begin their military service on October 26.

Vernon and DK also enlisted this year.

Seventeen was in the Philippines in January 2025 for their “Right Here” concert tour.
