'Soul' wins best animated feature Oscar
The contemplative comedy-drama "Soul" won the Oscar for best animated feature on Sunday, the latest in a long line of successes for Disney subsidiary Pixar.
The moving film, which explores determinism and the afterlife through the lens of a New York middle school jazz teacher, beat "Onward," "Over the Moon," "A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon" and "Wolfwalkers" to win the prize.
It would be interesting to note that the sets art director for "Soul" is Paul Abadilla, a Filipino creative who was also behind "Incredibles 2," "Brave," and "Cars 3" to name a few.
Earlier, Chloe Zhao nabbed a historic best director win for "Nomadland." She became the first Asian woman and only the second woman ever to take home the prize. — Agence France-Presse
