Fil-Am director Bobby Rubio now a story supervisor for Paramount Pictures

Bobby Rubio, the director behind short film “Float,” is now a story supervisor for Paramount Pictures!

The Filipino-American director made the “big announcement” on Instagram while teasing a new project.

“I’ve been promoted to Story Supervisor [and] I’m reuniting with director Josh Cooley on an exciting animated movie!” he wrote in the caption of his post.

“I am so excited to build something really awesome and special at Paramount! Let’s go, Josh! Let’s do this!” he added, tagging “Inside Out” director Josh.

According to Bobby, they are also looking for story artists to complete their team and left his email address for those interested.

In a previous Instagram post, Bobby said bid farewell to Pixar Animation Studios, where he spent over a decade.

“After 14 amazing years at Pixar, it’s my turn to say ‘Goodbye.’ I am grateful for all the memories with my Pixar family making wonderful movies!” he wrote in the caption.

“It’s time for a new chapter. New stories to be told. A new adventure awaits,” he added. “I am excited about the future and all the fantastic possibilities! Big announcement coming soon!”

“Float,” Bobby’s brain child, became Pixar's first short film that features Filipino lead characters.
