Kelly Clarkson changes legal name to Kelly Brianne

From now on, Kelly Clarkson is going by the name Kelly Brianne.

As shared on a Page Six report Tuesday, the 39-year-old American personality was granted the change by a California judge. A copy of the signed decree will be available next week.

“There being no objections, the petition for change of name is granted,” court documents obtained by the publication read. “The Petitioner’s name is changed from Kelly Brianne Clarkson to Kelly Brianne.”

In documents garnered by US Weekly, the singer-songwriter said she wanted to be known only by her first and middle names because “my new name more fully reflects who I am.”

The update came weeks after she and ex-husband Brandon Blackstock have finally reached a divorce settlement after almost two years of court battle. They decided to part ways in June 2020. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
