John Legend talks about his song 'Pieces,' Chrissy Teigen's pregnancy
John Legend tugged at the heartstrings when he sang "Pieces" for the first time during the In Memoriam segment of the Emmy awards.
In Aubrey Carampel's report for "24 Oras," the singer-songwriter said the song is about losing someone you love.
"When you feel that loss it never completely goes away. The song is about just learning to live with that," he said.
"I think it's OK to grieve, it's OK to cry, it's OK to feel pain, you slowly but surely start to recover and learn from that."
John and his wife Chrissy Teigen lost their third child to a miscarriage in 2020.
The couple, who has two children, are now expecting a rainbow baby two years after Chrissy's pregnancy loss.
"We're very excited, excited to welcome a new family member into our lives and the kids are very excited, we're all very excited," he said.
John just released his eighth studio album, "Legend," which contains 24 tracks including his collaboration with Filipino-American rapper Saweetie, "All She Wanna Do."
