Sophie Turner is Lara Croft in upcoming 'Tomb Raider' series
Sophie Turner is set to play the role of Lara Croft in the upcoming "Tomb Raider" live action series.
Amazon MGM Studios announced this on social media, adding that Phoebe Waller-Bridge will serve as creator, writer, executive producer and co-showrunner.
Jonathan Van Tulleken will direct and executive produce, and Chad Hodge will serve as co-showrunner and executive producer.
The "Tomb Raider" video game franchise follows the adventures of archaeologist and treasure hunter Lara Croft, who travels around the world in search of artifacts.
It birthed spin-off games, comics, and feature films. Among those who portrayed Lara Croft include Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.
Sophie is best known for her role as Sansa Stark in "Game of Thrones."
