Actress Daveigh Chase's cause of death revealed

Daveigh Chase’s cause of death has been revealed.

According to People Magazine, the “Lilo & Stitch” actress died due to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

Daveigh also had chronic polysubstance use along with AIDS, according to a Los Angeles medical examiner's report.

According to HIV.gov, HIV or human immunodeficiency virus, “is a virus that attacks cells that help the body fight infection, making a person more vulnerable to other infections and diseases.”

HIV is spread by contact with certain bodily fluids from a person with the virus, mostly through unprotected sex or sharing injection drug equipment.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Clinic states that polysubstance use disorder is a mental health condition where the person “is using more than one substance and following a pattern of use that affects health and quality of life.”

The medical report also said that Daveigh died in a hospital and her manner of death was natural.

Daveigh played Samara Morgan — the American equivalent of Sadako — in "The Ring," and was the voice behind Lilo in "Lilo & Stitch.” She passed away at 35 years old.

Roy Hernandez, Daveigh's boyfriend, told TMZ that the actress succumbed to meningitis and a blood infection, which caused sepsis and ultimately led to her death.

Although she has been inactive since 2016, Daveigh has worked on some iconic films like the English dub of “Spirited Away.”
