BTS' V reveals hearing problems
BTS member V revealed that he suffers from hearing problems.
According to The Korea Times, V discussed the condition on Wednesday during a livestream with fellow BTS member Jungkook on Weverse, where he shared the details with fans for the first time.
V said his hearing has deteriorated over the past two and a half years, with one ear significantly weaker than the other.
“If one ear is at about 100, I can only hear about 30 with the other,” he said.
The singer also revealed that his hearing worsened while he was completing his mandatory military service.
"It got a little worse in the military, and since I was surrounded by people who exercised a lot, everyone said, 'It's a matter of mental strength,'" V said.
"After that, I kind of convinced myself that it was a matter of mental strength."
The K-pop star said he is now prioritizing his health and regularly seeking medical treatment.
“I’m going to the hospital regularly,” he said.
V and Jungkook, alongside their fellow members Jin, RM, J-hope, Suga and Jimin, released "Arirang" in March, marking BTS' return to the music industry after a four-year hiatus, during which they enlisted in the South Korean military and pursued solo careers.
The album includes the songs, “Swim,” “Merry Go Round,” and “Normal.”
In April, they kicked off their biggest world tour yet.
