NBA: Former B-MEG import Marqus Blakely in Clippers training camp

Marqus Blakely, the import who came close to helping the B-MEG Llamados reach back-to-back championships during last season's Governors' Cup, was a last-minute addition to the training camp of the Los Angeles Clippers. This is actually the second time for Blakely to join the Clippers organization. After he went undrafted in 2010, Blakely was similarly signed by the team headed into training camp. He was cut after its end though, leading to his joining the NBA-DL, before winding up with B-MEG in the third and last conference of the PBA in the 2011-12 season. According to Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro, "Marqus has excellent athleticism, he's a terrific guy, plays hard, can play a couple positions, can guard multiple positions. "The guys we brought in are guys that we're just giving an opportunity to compete right now and to improve." In 22 games as a Llamado, including the post-season, Blakely put up averages of 22.36 points, 13.36 rebounds, 3.27 assists, 2.73 steals and 2.55 blocks over an average of 41 minutes. Another former PBA import trying to fight for a roster spot in the NBA is Jarrid Famous, formerly of the Meralco Bolts during the 2012 Commissioners' Cup and the San Miguel Beermen in the ABL, who signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. - AMD, GMA News
